Stealing the Bachelor by Sonya Weiss (Stealing the Heart #3 – Can be read as a standalone)
Release date: January 11, 2016
About the book:
Having missed out on the “drop-dead-gorgeous” gene in her family, Ann Snyder decides to kick a little butt in the business world instead. That is, until her skeezy manager’s “side business” has the FDA raiding her chocolate shop. Now Ann’s in huge trouble…and the only person who can help her is the adorkable guy who completely humiliated her in high school.
Lawyer Eric Maxwell has been in love with Ann as long as he can remember. He figured he never stood a chance—don’t the beautiful girls always prefer the bad boys to the nerds? So he makes Ann a deal. He’ll provide her with free legal services…if she’ll move in and help him transform him from nerd-without-a-clue to bona fide bad boy.
And once the transition is complete, all he has to do is prove that he’s the only bachelor for her…
Why I Do It
I was asked why I’m a writer. I’ve been a writer since I was a little girl. Before I knew anything at all about the mechanics of writing, I just wanted to tell stories. I think the storytelling was triggered because I was an early reader.
I’ve always loved books and I try to read every day, even if it’s only a few pages. I’m always adding to my too-be-read pile and to my keeper shelf.
I just finished reading I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga because someone suggested it to me. Amazing, jump-off-the-page, with a likeable but beautifully flawed cast of characters. Well, except for the dad. Nothing likeable about him.
I finished the book and picked up the second in the series titled Game. A friend also just gifted me a copy of All We Left Behind by Ingrid Sundberg and that looks like it’ll be a great read.
I love reading because I get drawn into worlds that are so varied. I don’t like books that are same-old, same-old. You know the ones where you read the book and it sounds like the same plot but with different faces.
I like to be stunned by the ending, to not be able to figure out what’s going to happen in the end by the middle of the book. I love books that have such vivid storytelling and characters that the story never leaves you. If You Could See Me Now by Cecelia Ahern is that kind of book. So is The Hunt Club by Bret Lott and Wives of the Fishermen by Angela Huth.
I read in a variety of genres but my favorite will always be romance. I love the sweet ones like With Me Tomorrow by Karen Rock or the sexier ones like Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley.
I love words. Love reading them, love writing them.
When I read, I get lost in the story and that’s the same thing that happens when I write. I get lost in the story and in the characters. Because the story unfolds for me as I write, it’s like I’m reading it.
My latest release is Stealing the Bachelor. The book is the last one in the Stealing the Heart series and so even though there’s excitement with every release, this one is bittersweet. I have to say goodbye to the Snyder sisters, to characters I have loved and rooted for. I hope that if you get a chance to read this series that you’ll enjoy reading about the family as much as I enjoyed writing them.
